Okra curry (Bendakaya Pulusu)

Ingredients :


Okra (Bendakaya) : 1/2 lb
Onion : 1 chopped
Green chillies : 2
Tamarind : small lemon size
Chilli powder : 1tsp
Coriander powder : 1tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4tsp
Jaggery : 1tsp 
Salt to taste
Cilantro
Methi powder :pinch
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tsp
Oil : 1tbsp
Curry leaves
Garlic cloves : 3


Preparation Method:


.Wash the Okra and cut in to cubes.


.Cut the Onions & Green chillies. Take the tamarind add one cup of water and take the pulp.


.Heat the oil in a pan add mustard seeds,let it pop and add curry leaves.


.Add the chopped onions and  green chillies and cook






.Now add the Okra (Bendakaya) pieces. cook in medium heat for 10minutes, okra and onions changed to light brown colour.


.Add the Turmeric, Chilli powder, Coriander powder and Salt mix it well and cook 5 minutes.


.Now add the Tamarind pulp add 3cups of water. Let it cook 5minutes.


.Now add the Jaggery, crushed Garlic and Methi powder mix it well and cover the lid, let it cook in medium heat for 10-12 minutes.


.Once cooked like a gravy garnish with Cilantro.


.Serve with rice.
